Laugardaginn 4. mars kl. 14:00 verða listamennirnir Vena Naskrecka og Michael Richardt með listamannaspjall um sýningu sína You Are Here / Jesteś tutaj / Du er her / Þú ert hér. Helga Arnbjörg Pálsdóttir sýningarstjóri mun leiða spjallið við listamennina.

You Are Here / Jesteś tutaj / Du er her / Þú ert hér
Vena Naskrecka og Michael Richardt eru gjörningalistamenn og mun sýningin verða vitnisburður um hvar þau eru stödd á þessum ákveðna tímapunkti og skrásetning á því sem þeim er nú hugleikið. Þau eru hér og nú, erlendir ríkisborgarar á Íslandi, að setja mark sitt á Listasafn Reykjanesbæjar þar sem þau ríkja í ákveðinn tíma.
Gjörningar þeirra Vena og Michael munu standa yfir allt sýningartímabil You Are Here / Jestes tutaj / Du er her / Þú ert hér. Sýningin mun taka miklum breytingum og innsetningarnar munu þenjast út, annars vegar með sjávarplasti (Vena, Re-Covery) og hins vegar með blekteikningum og olíulituðum fötum (Michael, The Colonialist).

 

Vena Naskrecka (1986) vinnur að myndlist á þverfaglegan hátt, með gjörningum, skúlptúr, fundnum hlutum og myndbandi, og byggja viðfangsefni hennar meðal annars á heimspeki, taugavísindum, fötlunarfræði og tækni. Naskrecka miðlar þeim með líkama sínum, en hún lítur á hann sem boðleið fyrir sjónræn, tilfinningaleg og vitsmunaleg samskipti.
Naskrecka er útskrifuð með MA-gráðu í myndlist frá CIT Crawford College of Art & Design, Cork, Írlandi, BA-gráðu í myndlist frá Hanze University Groningen – Academy Minerva, Hollandi og lærði keramík í the Jacek Malczewski School of Fine Arts í Czestochowa, Póllandi. Naskrecka er fædd í Czestochowa, Póllandi, hún býr og starfar í Reykjanesbæ.

 

Michael Richardt (1980) er gjörningalistamaður sem sérhæfir sig í gjörningum byggðum á tíma og lengd. Hann hugsar út frá mæðraveldi og skapar verk með sjálfþróuðu kerfi byggðu á litrófi.
Richardt útskrifaðist með MFA-gráðu í sviðslistum frá Listaháskóla Íslands. Hann stundaði nám við Amsterdam University of the Arts, Amsterdam, Hollandi, Codarts Circus School, Rotterdam, Hollandi og klassíska olíumálun hjá listamanninum Poul Winther, Hjørring, Danmörku. Richardt hefur unnið sem dansari fyrir We Go, komið fram á Copenhagen Jazz Festival Danmörku, og sem leikari í „Polishing Iceland“ með Reykjavík Ensemble í Tjarnarbíói.
Richardt er fæddur í Danmörku og á einnig ættir að rekja til Níger, hann býr og starfar í Reykjavík.

 

Sýningarstjóri er Helga Arnbjörg Pálsdóttir, listfræðingur.
Sýningin er styrkt af Safnasjóði.
Listamennirnir eru styrktir af Myndlistarsjóði og Statens Kunstfond.
Sýningin stendur til og með 5. mars 2023.

You Are Here / Jesteś tutaj / Du er her / Þú ert hér
Vena Naskrecka and Michael Richardt are performance artists, and this exhibition will be a display of where they are at this particular point in time, and a documentation of what occupies their minds at the moment. They are here and now, foreign citizens in Iceland, making their mark on the Reykjanes Art Museum where they will rule for a while.
During the exhibition period, Naskrecka and Richardt will perform their long durational performaces, Re-Covery and The Colonialist, as part of the exhibition You Are Here / Jestes tutaj / Du er her / Þú ert hér. The exhibition will transform over time and the installations will expand with Naskrecka's sea plastic (Re-Covery) and Richardt's ink drawings and clothes dyed with oilpaint (The Colonialist).

 

Vena Naskrecka (1986) works in visual arts in an inter-disciplinary way, with performances, sculptures, found objects, and video, and she bases her work for instance on philosophy, neuro-science, disability studies, and technology. Naskrecka expresses this with her body, which she sees as a tool for visual, emotional, and intellectual communication.
Naskrecka graduated with a MA degree in fine art from CIT Crawford College of Art & Design, in Cork, Ireland, a BA degree in fine art from Hanze University Groningen – Academy Minerva, the Netherlands, in addition to studying ceramics at the Jacek Malczewski School of Fine Arts in Czestochowa, Poland.
Naskrecka was born in Czestochowa, Poland, she lives and works in Reykjanesbær.

 

Michael Richardt (1980) is a performance artist who specialises in time-based and long-durational performance. Michael is a matriarchal thinker and creates work using a self-developed system based on spectral colours.
Richardt graduated with a MFA degree in Performing Arts from the Iceland University of the Arts. He studied at Amsterdam University of the Arts in the Netherlands, at Codarts Circus School, Rotterdam, Netherlands, and classical oil painting with the artist Poul Winther Pedersen, in Hjørring, Denmark. Richardt has worked as a dancer for We Go, performing at Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Denmark, and as an Actor in ‘Polishing Iceland’, Reykjavík Ensemble, Tjarnarbíó, Reykjavik, Iceland.
Richardt was born in Denmark and is of Danish and Nigerien descent, he lives and works in Reykjavík.
