Express our lives with photos - The Night of Light exhibition 2018
The Reykjanes Art Museum together with the Nordic house in the Faroe Islands will put up a big photo exhibition during the Night of Ligt Festival 2018 in a couple of exhibition halls in Duus Museum. The people of Faroe Islands contribute the exhibition „Föroyar i et år“ which consists of more than 600 photographs taken by the locals to describe their daily lives for one year. At the same time the exhibition "One year in Suðurnes" will be opened in Listasalur in Duus Museum.
The Reykjanes Art Museum invites everyone to participate in this project. What has happened during the year? Collect your photos together taken in the Suðurnes region in the period of 17 June 2017 until 17 June 2018.
Every photo tells a story and together all the photos sent in will describe daily life in the region. All photos from the area are accepted. What happened in Suðurnes in the last year? What were we doing? Children, the elderly, animals, regular days, holidays, politics, religion, nature, family, work and so on.
Each individual can send in no more than 10 photos in the best quality possible so they will look well when printed out. The preferable size is 4 MB but all photos are accepted. Deadline is 1 July 2018. All photos will be put on display in the Night of Light Exhibition, the best photos printed out the others on screen.
